The Deming Distinguished Practice Award
（※Newly Established from 2024）

The Deming Distinguished Practice Award sheds light on the importance of the concrete implementation of the concepts and methodologies of Total Quality Management (TQM) and given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in these areas.
Specifically, given to Individuals who have made significant contributions, activities, and roles that are characteristic of field-driven practical activities for TQM activities, Quality Management Practices, Promotion, Dissemination, Research, Consultation, and Management, taking the following into consideration.

a) Japanese, foreigners who have contributed to the Japanese Quality Management field, regardless of whether they are individuals belonging to an organisation or freelance individuals.
b) Post-award contributions should also be expected.
c) High ethical standards and a good reputation in society as TQM professionals.

As a rule, one or two persons nominated by member of the Deming Prize for Individuals Selection Committee will be selected for this award each year. Candidates for the award must be individuals and groups are not permitted.
The winners receive the Deming Medal with an accompanying Certificate of Merit from the Deming Prize Committee.

How to recommend a candidate for the Deming Distinguished Practice Award

Members of the Deming Prize for Individuals Selection Committee fill in the specified recommendation form, attach a record of achievements made (3 pages on a A4 size paper at the maximum), and submit to the Secretariat for the Deming Prize Committee.
The recommendation deadline is August 31st.
Although nominators must be members of the Deming Prize for Individuals Selection Committee, If you have any information other than self-nominations or nominations from members of the Deming Prize for Individuals Selection Committee, please inform the secretariat by July 10(strict adherence), and this information will be provided to the Selection Committee as reference information.
Examination

Taking into consideration the record of his/her achievement, the Deming Prize for Individuals Selection Committee examines and selects the candidates for the Award and reports to the Deming Prize Committee.
Determination of the Winners

—Mid October
According to the report by the Committee, the Deming Prize Committee determines the winners of the Award and notifies them.
Announcement of the Winners

—Mid October
After the Prize winners have been determined by the Deming Prize Committee as mentioned above, the winners are announced through the proper JUSE publication media with the reasons for receiving the Prize.
Award Ceremony

—Mid November
The winners receive the Deming Medal with an accompanying Certificate of Merit from the Deming Prize Committee.
Winners Presentations

—Mid November
The Winners Presentation will take place on the day of the Award Ceremony by the award winner.
